Sports Illustrated, The Real Deal

Sports Illustrated has a website that is appealing to sports fanatics. When one goes to the website, you are greeted with a live sports game tracker. The tracker contains scores from games in the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, college basketball, and college football. If you click on the score for a specific game it acts as a link and takes you to a recap of the game if the game is over, or a summary if the game is still being played. From this page you can find a link to the box score, which shows you specific stats for individual players, or even photos from the event. Back at the homepage on the right side of the page there is a box that contains all of the feature stories that have a wide variety of topics. These features usually focus on controversial topics in sports, for example Brett Farve has had countless articles written about himself in this column. The main focus of the site is the top feature stories that are accompanied by a large eye catching picture in the middle of the homepage. These are the stories that most sports fans tend to read because they are the most popular events happening at that time in sports history. Besides being easy to use, it is also kept up to date, and by that I mean it gets updated every few minutes. This site has all the top sports new and is an excellent resource for all sports fans.

Advanced Google search is a viable source for researching information for articles. Advanced Google search is a way to narrow your search results into specific categories of your choosing. When using this search method, you are given several questions to help narrow your search results. Advanced search gives you options such as, find web pages that have all these words, this exact wording or phrase, or one or more of these words. It also gives you the option of not showing a page that has certain words. If these options are not enough to narrow your search, you have the option to select a reading level, different language, file type or domain. While this narrows your search results, you must be certain that you are using a credible source for your information. Other than advanced Google search, Databases are also another good source to find valuable information. A database is an organized collection of data usually on the internet which can be accessed at any time. Most databases are considered to be credible sources, due to the fact that not just anyone can edit the information found in the database. When you are using advanced search, anyone could have made the website that appears in your results, and you have no way of proving if the information is true. Where as with database's you know what you are reading is credible information.

Facebook & Friends

         Facebook is a great way to keep in touch with your family and friends. On facebook you have something called a wall, where your friends can write you messages. This is a great way to keep in contact with people, or to just have a nice conversation. You can see what your friends are doing by simply browsing through their photos and or videos. There is also a chat feature, so if you and a friend are signed on at the same time that you can send them instant message. When people go to college, they often find it hard to keep in touch with there friends, facebook makes this simple. Most facebook users log into their profile at least once a day if not more. With all the chat options, it makes staying in touch with old friends as simple as a few clicks.

To Blog Or Not To Blog? That Is The Question.

Contrary to the popular belief among society, blogging is not a credible source of news. People have put down their news paper and are now looking at blogs for their daily source of news, and this simple will not do. In most cases, the people reading these blogs do not know who is writing the blogs they read. Blogs are not a credible source for news because most of the time, the people writing them have no credentials in the subjects that they are blogging about. Anyone can create a blog and they could post whatever they want, weather it is true or not. Most bloggers don't worry about the truth, they are posting hearsay. This is how gossip spreads, through these blogs where everything people read they take as being one hundred percent the truth. This is often not the case as most blogs are the authors opinion. This is why I believe that blogging is a bad thing. The people need to find a better alternative for their daily news, other than hearsay filled blogs.
